All Around the World

For my 14th birthday I decided to have an all around the world party. I wanted to create something different and lots of fun! I also LOVE dress up parties so this was a great opportunity to do just that.

On each of my friends invites it had the name of a country that they had to dress up like. I had countries like Jamaica, France, Greece and Australia! (We were young so they couldn't be difficult countries haha). The invites were designed like a globe with a little car and plane that could be pushed around the world. Have a look below:

For this party, I decorated each section of the event room in a different country theme. I kept a general colour theme of green and blue (the obvious choice) to match the globe cake and invitations. All the tables were covered in blue and green cloths and I even found balloons that looked like little worlds! So cute.

For dinner we had a selection of traditional meals from all over the world. Everyone loved the variety of flavours and colours!

The cake was made from a basic butter cake cooked in a bowl to create the half globe shape. Using little flags (available at most party shops) I covered the top to give it a more international feel. I sat the cake on a round piece of black card and drew little white lines so it looked like a road and I even got a little red car to drive on it. This matched perfectly with the invitations that all the guests received!

All the guests had lots of fun and loved getting to dress up! I definitely recommend the around the world theme for any aged party! It is easy to create and super easy to find decorations that correspond with the theme.
